Terms of use
This is the agreement between you and Daia AS when you use Opie.
Draft: needs legal review. These terms don't apply until they have been reviewed. Last changed October 31, 2026.
1. About Opie and us
Opie is an app for Mac and Windows that looks at your screen when you ask, answers with a voice and draws on the screen. Opie is provided by Daia AS (org. no. [placeholder]), Norway. By making an account or using Opie, you accept these terms.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must approve buying a plan. You're responsible for what happens on your account, and you shouldn't share it. If you lose a computer, you can remove it from your account.
3. Plans and payment
- Free costs nothing. Plus is $20 and Pro $100 per month, plus VAT where applicable. Dollar prices are shown without VAT; if VAT applies where you live, it will be shown before you pay. In Norwegian kroner, Plus is 199 kr and Pro 999 kr per month, including 25 % VAT.
- Every plan has the same features. They differ only in how much you can use each month.
- Plans renew monthly and are paid in advance by card through Stripe, until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. You won't pay for the next period.
- If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before.
4. Right of withdrawal
If you're a consumer in the EEA, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If you ask for your plan to start straight away, you pay for the part of the period you used if you withdraw.
5. How much you can use
Each plan gives an amount of use per calendar month (UTC), measured by what the answers cost us. We show it as an approximate number of questions. When it's used, Plus and Pro carry on in light mode for the rest of the month. If light mode is used up too, Opie pauses until the 1st of next month. Free stops when its amount is used. You never pay more than the price. We may adjust the amounts, and will email you at least 30 days before a change that gives you less.
6. What Opie does on your computer
Opie answers using language models, and answers can be wrong. Check what matters. In Do it for me, Opie clicks and types on your behalf, and asks you before anything is saved or sent. You're responsible for what you approve.
7. Your own subscription
If you use Opie with your own Claude, ChatGPT or ElevenLabs subscription, those providers' terms apply too, and their limits are theirs.
8. What you can't do
- Use Opie for anything illegal, or to harm others.
- Resell, share or automate access to our service outside the app.
- Try to get around the limits, or attack or overload the service.
If you break these rules, we may close your account. We'll tell you first when we can.
9. Liability
We do our best to keep Opie working, but we can't promise it always will. As far as the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. This doesn't limit your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending
You can delete your account from your account page at any time. We may end the service with at least 30 days' notice, and will then refund what you paid for the remaining period.
11. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we'll email you at least 30 days before.
12. Law and disputes
Norwegian law applies. We'll first try to settle any disagreement with you directly. As a consumer you can also use the consumer bodies where you live, and your mandatory consumer rights there still apply.
