Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work. That's why you don't see a consent banner.
Draft: needs legal review. This text doesn't apply until it has been reviewed. Last changed October 31, 2026.
This is all of them
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| opie_session | Keeps you signed in. It holds a random key, not your email address. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| opie_ref | Set only when you open a referral link. It remembers who sent you, so you both get the discount. | 30 days |
| opie_google | Used only while you sign in with Google, to check that Google's answer belongs to the sign-in you started. | 10 minutes |
All three can only be read by our server (HttpOnly), are only sent over an encrypted connection, and are only used on tryopie.com.
What we don't do
We have no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The site stores nothing else in your browser either, such as localStorage, and it doesn't load fonts or scripts from anyone else. Your language choice isn't remembered.
When you pay
The payment page is at Stripe (checkout.stripe.com). Stripe sets its own cookies there to take the payment and prevent fraud. See Stripe's own cookie policy.
Why no consent
The Norwegian Electronic Communications Act, like the EU ePrivacy rules, doesn't require consent for cookies that are needed to deliver a service you asked for. That covers signing in, and the discount you get through a referral link. Questions? Write to hei@tryopie.com.
